Finally - documentary evidence of seasonal delay in North America (cross posted in the weather thread):



This map shows the start date of the coldest three months of the year throughout North America. It clearly demonstrates that this date is the latest in the northeast, especially in northeastern NS, PEI and NL.

Now, to find a similar graphic showing the start date of the warmest three months in North America (although I think it would be similar).
