Museum: Museum der Moderne Mönchsberg
Location: Salzburg, Austria
Architect: Friedrich Hoff Zwink
Completed: 2004

Salzburg's modern art museum has two location, the original in the Rupertinum in the old town and this newer building located on Mönchsberg mountain above the city. It is reached by an elevator located inside the mountain and has sweeping views, even on a cloudy day.

That looks like a nice museum, and it certainly takes advantage of its view! I visited the city in 1995 and I have a vague recollection of being told that a museum would eventually be built in that location.

I like the contrast of the rather austere lobby and hallway with the overload of graphics in the exhibit spaces!
