The panels are not as warm as the recent page of photos suggests. It was more silver than I expected last I walked by. The earlier photos were kind of washed out though, so those aren't exactly accurate either.

Its hard to tell, even when walking by, if it is the color of the panel or the reflections it's picking up from its surroundings. I think they might be subtly warm toned. That said, once it has climbed a few more floors and it is reflecting more sky than surrounding buildings, I suspect it will be hard to pick up any of that subtly if its there

Yep in person its a Champaign color and not grey at all. Perhaps to help blend in with all the beige in the neighborhood.

I actually really like the color in that photo. It's not as yellow/beige-y as the surrounding buildings, it's warmer/slightly bronz-y, and feels..richer.

Also, this thing is flying! It's only June 10th and the core appears to be on the 19th floor for the main tower. With the three day slab pour schedule, I calculated they'll have poured the 44th-45th floor by the last full week of August, if it (hopefully) maintains its current construction schedule.

It's moving along quickly. It's also two buildings.

3 cranes + top down construction + working a lot of weekends

For those keeping track CASE broke ground on April 11, 2018 or thereabouts.

When can we expect topdown to finish in orientation to the tower itself. Is there a certain height of the tower that cant be constructed past until topdown is completed? Or is everything in place for the tower to keep rising no matter how long topdown takes or if they run into snags. Can the tower keep rising?

It seems that the hue in those photos is the color of the limestone of Holy Name Cathedral reflecting off the matte grey of the One Chicago facade system.

That would make sense as I didn't detect anything but silver/gray when I first saw them. The renderings don't show any champagne color either. Guess we'll have to wait and see as they add more windows.

edit: after rechecking renderings at https://jdlcorp.com/projects/one-chicago there are plenty that show the color we're seeing. Guess I just didn't notice before.

The more floors that go in the more silver it looks—from the ground at least. You pick up the warm tones at certain angles, but it is pretty subtle, and even then it is hard to tell if it is the color of the material or the reflections it is picking up

When I visited, I picked up some of that champagne color. It was subtle - and on a sunny day - but even after setting the white balance to a neutral 'daylight' it did come through some.

As we've discussed in the Vista thread *exact* colors can be impossible to deduce via photos based on a range of factors (ambient light quality, camera white balance setting, post-processing, computer monitor calibration, etc.)

it's shaping up nicely! was hoping it'd be a bit darker to offset all of the beige in river north and gold coast, am I wrong to assume the most recent renderings (with the balconies) showed it to be darker/more grey?
