This building is so stunning it still takes my breath away. Unbelievably happy with the whole HY design from the residential tower, to the coach tower, to the beautiful public plaza. Best development in the world IMO.

Those towers won't have the added "sliding cultural shed" as a component, though they are great as well.

I'm a huge fan of the tower, but i wouldn't go that far; 56 Leonard and NY by Ghery have much more unique architectural features than this tower. But this is definitely a stunning building and my favorite in the complex along with the north tower.

I am extremely optimistic about 56 Leonard, however NY by Ghery massing to me is all wrong. While the top heavy look really suits this building with its curves, I find NY by Ghery top heavy massing leaves me desiring a set back or two up top.

*nitpick: I just wish the cylinders on the top half could have a slightly more subtle curve to them.

Building D (four cylinders) looks absolutely horrible and doesn't fit at all with the rest of the complex. It looks like four tubes duck-taped to a square base. Also looks like some old factory.

I really hope that one does not get built unless it is redesigned. Completely.

Let's keep our fingers crossed on this one -- developers in NY seem to want to simplify building designs during construction to save costs. After all, Gehry's apartment building was supposed to be wavy on all sides, but the developer made one side flat at the last minute to save money. Let's hope that this building does not suffer a similar fate.

What's great about this building is how they resolve the box into the four cylinders, and how the diagonal lines in that resolve also relate to the diagonal lines in the cultural shed. I have to admit that at first I didn't like this design, but it's really grown on me as I've had a chance to view the model shots and take more of it in. Like NYguy said, this will be one of the most distinct towers on the NY skyline when it's complete, and it will be very visible due to its location. I just hope they execute the materials well, and do something with the crown at night. It really should be lit up.

That's true, but what I really mean is that it will be most unique due to the components that make up the building. The design of course will also be unique for Manhattan. Now imagine if this were the first and only tower going up on the west side. It's nearly the height of Trump World Tower, so it would be really dominant.
