Edmonton will be (WEM) West Edmonton Mall or Tourism Calgary.

I thought Edmonton would have been MoneyMart.

It's been happening for years.

How do you boil a frog.

Helmet ads, ads on the glass, it's just a matter of time before they become Euro-style.

^I agree that’s where it’s headed but I still don’t like it - especially on the jerseys.

I've always hated this comparison, mostly due to the fact that European leagues do it out of necessity - they need that revenue and they need as much as they can possibly get to stay afloat - whereas the NHL is doing it because it's simply another revenue stream to exploit. They're arriving at the same thing from different directions.

I don't mind it since the montreal one is the same as what cfl teams have been doing for the past 20 years its small enough where its not super gaudy or anything

Not surprised it's a Club that doesn't need an extra revenue stream that adopted the add jerseys first.

Ads on the glass? Does that not block the view on the ice?

This practice really cheapens the experience and the league.

I'd love to see that. Great potato chips with some really great flavours.

They need some way to offset the spiraling costs of keeping the Arizona franchise.

IIRC, Montreal had CIBC on their helmets. RBC on the jerseys is weird.

Edmonton is the only team I don't recall having a sponsor on their helmet.

Especially now considering they are about 10k seats short of an NHL arena!

Rogers has been on there for a year (or two?).

I've never seen it. Is it on the side panel where the team logo goes?

Nobody's ever made this joke before.

Their STH revenues are supposedly 50% higher in the smaller rink than they were in Glendale.

Similar to TD and others used on other teams the past few years.

50% increase of a very small number is still a small number.

I wonder who'll be the first to put Pornhub on their jersey.
