Yeah the area could definitely benefit from several more just like it. I think desmeurons could be a really nice street if for a couple blocks in either direction they put up more like this or even smaller finer grained buildings. Could become quite the area!

What about that lot across the street which had the « new condos coming soon » sign up for like 5 years? Seems like it could be a pretty neat opportunity to do something fun on a small piece of land

^^^ the 2 buildings next door are on market for $310k & $415k but no takers and it's been a few months. I think if someone acquired all 3 they'd be able to make quite a nice place.

i think this development has made the owners across the street think their ship has come in and the price has gone up considerably.

Serious question. Why is everything grey? I've seen entire housing developments where every house is grey. Interiors walls and floors are all grey, even new cars are an unappetizing (for me) gun-metal grey. Why is grey the colour-du-jour? Does every designer on the planet get a memo from the Colour Council declaring "you must make everything grey"?

Seriously....what's with all the grey?

Its the same reason the most popular colours for cars are white black and silver....colour dates quickly. Colour can be polarizing. Colour can hinder re-sale value. Nobody has an opinion about grey. Everyone has an opinion about yellow.

Ever watch one of those HGTV shows where the people look at houses to buy....what's the first thing they say if they walk into a kitchen that has colour on the walls?....its usually some negative reaction about the colour...no matter how nice the kitchen is.

Architects are terrified of colour.

grey... better than white stucco? i think many of the infill houses with fake wood looking siding is hideous. some arent bad but not many. at least this place has diferent layers of material and some brick (real or fake, unsure)

Friend of mine moved into his new, customized house in Niverville a couple of months ago. The entire inside is painted green because his wife loves green. Absolutely hideous in my eyes. Pretty sure they plan to die there, but the kids will have to repaint a neutral colour when it's time to sell it.

So grey is the only neutral colour out there? Whatever happened to a nice, calming beige?

Mmmmmmmmm......beige!!!!!

My two cents: grey works well in our society today as it represents middle ground, ambiguity, compromise and a desire for peacefulness. By looking at some of the current divides and recent major events, it’s kind of easy to see how damaging the extremes are. Even if one doesn’t consciously consider the symbolism of grey, the subconscious psychological impact is still there.

Maybe, I’m reading too much into this……time to rest I guess……
