I think there was something posted here about what the thing for Brees will be. Maybe in the last few pages.

I like that infill where the fishermen shop was.

Las Cruces Tex Mex

Las Cruces is a new 7,000 square foot full-service Tex Mex restaurant and bar under construction at 2935 Airline Drive in Metairie, right behind the Planet Fitness on N Labarre Road.

Just off the busy Airline Highway corridor, outside of New Orleans, the Las Cruces Tex-Mex development will be a brand-new dining and entertainment experience from the folks behind Central City BBQ. In response to a challenging, post-industrial, triangular site that has remained vacant for decades, GOAT developed a massing strategy that maximizes and prioritizes outdoor space for drinking, dining, and play.

The cruciform plan creates a large, open play yard & outdoor dining space while dividing the interior into (2) primary functions: dining and events, with the kitchen located at the hinge point between the two forms. To maximize the utility of the volumes created by the massing strategy, the plan incorporates a private dining mezzanine overlooking the bar and dining room.

The site utilizes a network of swales and large expanses of permeable surface to hold storm water and reduce the runoff burden on the neighborhood. Native planting will augment the architecture and soften the edges of the post-industrial site, while the back property line is defined by a series of stacked cargo containers, linking it to the railway that runs parallel to it.

The palette on the interior is simple and industrial, allowing the custom millwork & lighting elements and urban-inflected artwork to take center stage.

When built, this project will offer guests a high energy, family friendly dining experience unlike anything else currently offered in New Orleans

Hello Guys, I'm new to the board but a long time site lurker. I visit the site fairly often for updates on projects happening throughout the city of New Orleans. I hope to contribute with information on projects as well. With that being said I heard from a local developer that a rumored Margaritaville Hotel is being proposed near the parking lots backing the Little Gem Saloon. It is backed by Drew Brees and some other local/national developers. Has anyone heard anything in regards to this. Thanks.

So the hotel would be a tower on the Loyola side, and then small-scale infill on S Rampart?

Hoping the tower is nice, their Nashville tower is a decent looking modern tower and the NYC one is a typical McSam-style glass hotel.

Hello everyone (long time viewer first time posting) I was reading through recent commercial sales last week and saw that Hobby Lobby Inc purchased the Valance Street Baptist Church site? Curious to see what will happen there...

Hobby Lobby buys Valence Street Baptist Church on Magazine

https://uptownmessenger.com/2022/12/...h-on-magazine/

This really interesting because i dont see anything online about small scale hobby lobby stores or anything like that.
My guess is this has to do with preserving the church or something definitely cant see a store here.

Article has been updated to show Hobby Lobby will lease the property back to the congregation and the congregation will now have the money to fix it up and renovate

Hobby Lobby buys historic church on Magazine with plans to lease it to local congregation

The NOLA Baptist Church, a fledgling Uptown congregation, plans to lease it from Hobby Lobby, the church’s pastor, the Rev. Kyle Jagers, confirmed on Monday (Dec. 5).

“We have entered into a lease with them as the tenant,” Jagers said. “As the tenant, we will begin work to restore the property to its historic value and appearance. The property will be used as a church and only as a church.”
