Just to clarify, this red building will be taller than the Cira Center, correct? It appears so in the future image I saw but I wasn't sure if that was just the angle.

Old rendering, nearly the same perspective

Schuylkill Yards in the Philadelphia skyline rendering by Philly SkyGuy, on Flickr

3025 JFK and 3151 Market are present here too

Big fan of 3001 JFK (the red one). It's very original in both massing and color. 3025 (the black one) on the other hand is very, very bland. 2 boxes stacked on top of one another with zero creativity.

In general though, I appreciate Brandywine engaging with different architects to create a more organic looking neighborhood. Just wish they would have pushed for something a bit more creative and futuristic for 3025.

I like 3025 (especially over 3151 Market), but I agree that 3001 is the superior of the two.

Just commented on the most recent Schuylkill Yards post about the red tower, and they said "Shovel-ready for 2025 delivery!"

I'd say that's gotta start wicked soon if that's the delivery expectation.

Wow.

Wow.
That's just marketing speak. It means "it would be ready in 2025 if we started today, and we can start today (if you sign a lease or put up debt/equity to complete the capital stack)." I wouldn't read this to mean that there's a deal in place to start.

It at least sounds like this project is still officially on the table. My hope is that it's done by 2026, the big year for Philadelphia.

Very minor movement, but it's something good to see in light of the recent "shovel-ready for 2025 delivery" news:

Nothing is going to happen until a tenant is landed and that could take.. a while.

That's why I get a bit annoyed with the "thank god we didn't get HQ2".. sure I guess if waiting a few months is worse than waiting years and possibly decades for something else.

Isn't Dechert already the assumed tenant of this project?

Amazon was not going to Pick Philly regardless. They wanted to be next to DC. Maybe I'm a jaded software engineer but we have other useful software companies that are trying to start up here. Tech companies are not saviors of cities imo.
Yes we need more companies here but we don't need to bend over for Amazon, FB, Twitter etc...

Good question. I thought the conclusion of that was a new law was created so you couldn't "double dip" on the Keystone Opportunity Zones? Thus them ending their quest to move to the new buildings?

Judge found in favor of Dechert, but a new law was immediately written to close the loophole.
