I wish they'd stuck with the funicular.

Either of them seem to me to be cheesy gimmicky ideas, although I agree that the gondola looks really cheap. And the area where it sets down in the plaza is too big, boxy and ugly - really disrupts the open space and what it could be.

I predict it will be broken down, tagged, scratched up, or smelling of piss before too long. Such an expensive gimmick that will only carry a single rider up and down at a time.

on the north side of 181 Fremont, what I think is the Muni section is coming together

it was a pleasure to be able to walk through on the east side of Fremont for the first time in... years?

the east end feels imposing and deserving of respect when walking past, to me. the previous building certainly didn't, and I'm vaguely hopeful this will keep it cleaner and better-maintained.

Gondola - agree with you all, the box on a cable is not cool. I've seen ice cubes with more character! An escalator would have been more desireable. I have no doubt an escalator would be much faster. I can imagine how long it will takee for the contraption to make a round trip. And if crowded wait, wait and wait.

There will be multiple alternative ways to get up to the park, so it shouldn’t be a problem, even though the box does look clunky.

My impression has always been that this is supposed to be like cable cars in the modern world: Clunky and wierd but fun.

If you want an escalator, just go inside where I'm sure there will be several.

Didn’t we also read there will be public access by Salesforce Tower elevator to the garden bridge?

See a MUNI sign is up. The MUNI area will open after the bus drivers learn how to use the center. Looking good! Don't know what the black box is.

MUNI at the Salesforce Transit Center

I'm guessing it will announce bus arrival times.

The Fulton bus line has been loading and unloading at the new trans center for about 3 months.
