The neighborhood place where I drank a beer in a bar for the first time is going to be rebuilt. Article from the Ithaca Times:

I was in Ithaca earlier last week, and shot a few pics of the current construction.

The Dryden Eddy project:

The Collegetown Crossing project has started:

And the 200 block of Dryden Road projects have started with demo also:

Downtown has a couple of projects underway too.

The Marriott Hotel

The Carey Building

A couple of projects on Inlet Island are nearing completion;

Articles from the Ithaca Voice related to downtown's redevelopment and possible future development for the city:

http://ithacavoice.com/2015/08/when-...beating-heart/

http://ithacavoice.com/2015/08/5-con...urban-renewal/

http://ithacavoice.com/2015/08/urban...es-for-ithaca/

http://ithacavoice.com/2015/08/ithac...mebacktothetop

The future is of course still unknown, but Ithaca does have potential.

I can't remember if I posted this link to an animated video showing the proposed Trebloc building:

https://vimeo.com/135580940

So is it too much for downtown?

Well this is welcome news. Of course it's not set in stone, but at least it's a positive sign for a new tallest in downtown Ithaca. From the Ithaca Voice:

'Harold's Square' project to begin on Commons in 2016

I forgot to post this article from the New York Times last Sunday ref: the upgrade of the Commons, and the ongoing development projects downtown (good stuff):

A step closer to something finally happening with the Hotel Ithaca project. I think the hold up has been a problem with getting financing, but now it will be done in phases (from the Ithacating blog):

Here's an article ref: the State Street Triangle (Trebloc) project from the Ithaca Voice:

Backers of 11-story building by Commons take case to public

Here's a complete set of the new renderings:

http://www.cityofithaca.org/DocumentCenter/View/3481

And there's a link to a video of the old proposal in post # 135 above.

I still feel this happening is at best 50-50.
