I feel like the following should get their own threads. 420 is 600' and there's going too be a LOT of discussion probably around 357 Green and the HSR ROW. And then the Morgan developments is a 3 building mini development... Mods - agree? Help?

420 N May currently has it's own thread: https://skyscraperpage.com/forum/sho...d.php?t=253126

I do agree though that there should be threads for the other two projects, even though they aren't 500 ft, given how significant they are for Fulton Market.

If anybody is concerned about the HSR corridor at 357 N Green, you can email the city's Committee on Design here, comments are accepted until EOD Tuesday. I wrote my comment already.
DPD-COD@cityofchicago.org

The committee is officially non-binding, but they do have influence - Bally's casino eliminated their big above-ground garage at the committee's request.

357 N. Green St looks pretty solid.

Side note, waiting for the Cassidy Tire building down the block to start going more vertical. Will have a solid view of both.

I wonder if any existing proposals are looking around and thinking about going taller. Even ones published ~a year ago seem like more height could be justified (looking at you 210 N Morgan & 1353 W Fulton)

edit to add One Fulton, which could use a height boost to differentiate it from nearby 900 Randolph

Agreed, and if there's any place to push for height increases it's the West Loop due to Burnett supporting development, unlike other aldermen who shall not be named.

* moderator edit *

Off topic Toronto posts have been deleted.

Now, back to our regularly scheduled Chicago highrise development program.

The approval is for 1201 Fulton...which happens to be the residential building next to Sterling Bay's project.

Zoning app for 330 N Green is up and it's listed as 503 feet. Time to make a new thread for this project: https://chicago.legistar.com/Legisla...vanced&Search=

This is unreal to look at. Expectations for more development in Fulton have always been high, but somehow it keeps exceeding them.

I never thought this degree of development here was possible in Chicago in such a relatively short period of time. This to me this is more significant and beneficial to the city than even several supertalls elsewhere.

Exactly! In the past 6 years, an entire downtown neighborhood has been built from scratch and shifted the center of gravity of the city to the west. 3 of those years have been during a pandemic, economic uncertainty, and high office vacancy. The fact Fulton Market is growing during the worst of times means that it'll thrive in the best of times

To think that 900 W Randolph is going to go from a staple in the neighborhood to a needle in the haystack in just a few years is exciting.
