I really hope someday, somehow the spire gets its cladding. The rings/crown lit up at night (or cladded) would also be a nice addition.

The main portion of the tower looks fine though

Yes! Please! Right now it just looks like a stupid antenna which is just a big middle finger to the Sears Tower

The use of a Radome to clad the mast was scrapped because of financial considerations - huge cost overruns!

And with the recent reports of how the P.A. and Durst are losing money on the building and its vacant office spaces, no way!!!!

Wait, so the Tribute In Light isn’t actually where the Twin Towers stood!?

Yes, it's strange. There had to be a way to use a portable setup at the edge of the pools - the actual sites of the Twin Towers.

The "Tribute in Light" is an art installation of 88 searchlights placed six blocks south of the World Trade Center on top of the Battery Parking Garage in New York City to create two vertical columns of light to represent the Twin Towers in remembrance of the September 11 attacks. Wikipedia

Well that’s unfair! If they’re supposed to honor the twins, then they should at least be put in their actual footprints and not a few blocks away

Just read an article about the Empire State Building's inaccessible/private 103rd floor balcony that only celebrities have been able to access. I'm sure hoping that one day the 108th floor (top of the rings) will one day have such a feature. They just seem perfect for an outdoor observatory! Maybe not now, but one day~~

It will be an outdoor observation deck of 1400 ft height above the ground.

If they implement such a thing, it had better NOT be a celebs only deal!

By the way, don't be upset about the 103rd floor facility only being used
for celebrities.

That goes back to the days when the mast (I believe only once) was used
for mooring dirigibles. The 103rd floor was designed as a passengers' lounge that had an entrance/exit access to a lighter-than-air ship.

That looks so much better, finishing 1WTC would be a good side project while 2WTC gets underway
