Thanks - I didn’t know our gutless city administration had actually decreased (even if only marginally) the height limit even further than before. That’s kind of discouraging. Especially because there is now enough demand, for the first time in decades, to possibly incite a couple of developers to build higher...

But the regulation has been updated in 2016. Now the true limit is 200 m.

To translate, the limit is still the elevation of Mount Royal as I explained OR 200 m, the lowest of the two. So both BNC and Victoria are max out in height.

With these rules, 1000 de la Gauchetière will always be the tallest (or if you prefer le 1250 René-Lévesque which is "officially" 230 m with its spear).

Sales centre has been built for a while now. Also, the units went on sale about a week ago and the project sold 300 already!

As mentioned in the 800 St. Jacques thread, excavations have started for both projects. Fencing went up a few days ago and all the trees have been cut. For this project, the sales office is still there but behind it there is machinery. Picture from ScarletCoral on MTlurb. Exciting news to have two 200m towers go up side by side.

Found this video on youtube that was filmed with a drone of the current site, seemingly frozen due to covid-19:

Use the webcam link I gave last year

Webcam: https://www.devisubox.com/dv/dv.php5...&sRef=90H3MZ6K

It's just behind 628 Saint-Jacques. They are at floor 7 out of 10 for the office base and then the tower will take off!

Looks like one of the original WTC towers proposed in the Libeskind plan, I like it a lot.

It's pretty cool with all the stuff going on in Montreal, but I am a little wistful seeing the views of Tour de la Bourse impacted. Still one of my favourite buildings in Canada.
