Current list from CTBUH. Just cropped it out. Notice the U.S. is third, but soon to be second in 300m +.

I keep harping on this, but realize, that super talls are still globally, very rare. Really, China and the U.S. are where over 95% of the super talls are rising.

Tokyo: Sky Mile Tower

Quote:
Rising like the Emerald City is a building that will not only dwarf the world's tallest skyscraper -- the Burj Khalifa in Dubai -- but double its height.

If built, the aptly named Sky Mile Tower by Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates (KPF) and Leslie E. Roberson Associates (LERA), would climb to approximately 1,600 meters, or one whole mile.

The residential skyscraper is part of "Next Tokyo 2045," a joint-proposal by the firms for research and developmental purposes. Its intent is to imagine a mega-city that contains resilient infrastructure.

Tokyo, like other vulnerable coastal cities with low-lying elevations, is faced with factors like rising sea levels and increased typhoon risks. The eco-district would be located on reclaimed land in Tokyo Bay and developed for a half-million residents.

"Next Tokyo is a vision for future cities based on challenges we face today," KPF Principal David Malott told CNN. It was important for the design team that the vision be real: that Next Tokyo can be realized utilizing today's technologies projected slightly forward into the future."

London: Wooden Skyscraper (PLP Architecture)

Quote:
London Mayor Boris Johnson just received a proposal to solve London’s eco-crisis: an 80-story eco-friendly skyscraper made of wood.
The project would house hundreds of units of low-cost housing while becoming the second-tallest building in London behind the Shard, according to Curbed.

The tower is a joint project between Cambridge University’s Centre for Natural Material Innovation and PLP Architecture and it would tower over the current tallest timber building — the 14-story Treet building in Bergen, Norway.

The wooden giant would rise in a courtyard of the Barbican estate and would be the centerpiece of a 1 million-square-foot mixed-use development.
The tower would feature a series of rooftop gardens, giving the appearance of vertical greenspace.

In post #37, 432 Park (January) made the count for global super talls a 100.

Fast forward to now, December, almost 2017, and the number of 300m+ complete is 111, per CTBUH.
