CLEVELAND - Just Chillin'

The weather has been on the chilly side (upper 40s, low 50s/9-10C) - some of my favorite photo-taking weather because everything looks so crisp.

From East 9th:

Detail view of the Garfield Building:

Work progressing on the East 4th storefronts:

Meet Me Here!

Guardians of Transportation, and Tremont's St. Theodosius Church in the background:

Women's Final Four at the Q:

Facade hodgepodge:

Soon to be home to an 11-story condo building

A view west down St. Clair Avenue:

Over in the Warehouse District, facade details:

Quite possibly one of the coolest alleys in the city:

One of my favorites, the Bradley Building:

More facades:

How's that for contrast?

Stonebridge Plaza is coming along nicely:

People out and about on West 9th:

Grabbing lunch at Constantino's Market:

Yet another cool facade!

A quick stop at the Arcade:

Looking up from the Flats:

Rooftops of East 4th buildings:

The street's a mess with the Euclid Corridor Project but 668 Euclid has a green roof!

The awesome cornice of the United Church of Christ headquarters:

The not-often seen side of the Arcade's skylight:

I kinda like Cleveland's Lady Liberty - she looks like a tough broad:

Zipping over the Main Avenue Bridge, with Stonebridge Plaza peeking up:

Skyline shot from the Columbus Road bridge:

I love how the sun is obscuring the Key logo in this shot :-)

The Federal Courthouse tower catching some rays:

200 Public Square:

One of these might not be around for long (the Breuer Tower on the left):

Hope you enjoyed!

This is the greatest alleyway in Cleveland - at night it looks like the backdrop for a 50's film noir. Thanks for the pics, Cleveland looking fine, as always.

^^That's the Downtown Trolley - there are two routes and yes, they're free to ride (and you don't necessarily have to smile).

MayDay, your threads never disappoint. You have such a great eye for good architecture and city vantages.

What is the Euclid Corridor Project? Also, how close do the passenger trains come to the area pictured?

awesome shots, very crisp indeed

Going to Boston and New York must make your head spin with all the old buildings and details

The Euclid Corridor Project is BRT, with dedicated busways and 60ft articulated buses, that will run from Downtown's Public Square to the Windermere rapid station along the Red line. This will run through the University Circle neighborhood and have close proximity to the art museum, Case Western, Cleveland Clinic, and Little Italy.

And as far as the passenger trains go, well all the RTA lines come together at the lower level of the Terminal Tower. MayDay was only about two blocks away from the W. 3rd station on the Waterfront line when he shot the "coolest alleyway". If you look at the very bottom of the first shot taken on E. 9th- thats the walkway to the E. 9th station, also on the Waterfront line.
