Yes, it's difficult to get pictures that really show it. A drone would probably be the best way.

For a second, I thought that Acme parking deck was the great wall of China. LOL.

Guess what, y'all? We have another GFA Change and Addition

COMMERCIAL BUILDING PERMIT NO.: CP-2020-005003

Quote:
ERECTION OF AN ELEVEN (11) STORY ADDITION TO A NEW CONSTRUCTION (SEE PERMIT 1019211) BUILDING WITH AN INCREASE OF TWO HUNDRED SEVENTY (270) DWELLING UNITS (TOTAL OF 1,131 IN STRUCTURE) TO INCLUDE NEW AMENITY SPACE AS PER APPROVED PLANS.

Status: Issued
Issue Date: Jun 23, 2021
Description: Commercial - Apartment - Addition and/or Alteration

This will be added to the currently under construction 5 story building which will serve as the podium to the addition!!! Hey mcgrath618, can this be added to this thread?

I believe this will be situated top of the 5 story building in the middle of the development. In between the 15/16 story and 12 story building(s)

The limited address information that is provided is under the general main development/contractor address, which is 1104 N. Hancock St. I guess once the each building is completed, or nearing completion, individual addresses will be assigned. I apologize for not including the address. I only posted pertinent and/or changed information. Trust me, if I saw something different with addresses, I would posted it. I just assumed everyone would know it's within the greater construction project.

No problem, I understand. Yes, I would think this is highly unusual while a building/structure is under construction that significant changes and/or upgrades are made to the GFA, at least here in Philadelphia .

The only other building under construction that I know of that keeps adding floors is the seemingly never ending hotel? or apartment building? around 10th and Arch Streets in Chinatown (or maybe has it ended, who knows ).

Now with all of that said, I have to apologize to you because upon further review, I noticed that there are two 5 story buildings. Refer to post #87. In the first pic, if you can clearly see a low rise 5 story building with beige cladding behind the 8 story building fronting that side of the development. In the same post, the very last pic, you can see another similar sized 5 story building with beige cladding.

So one of those is getting the additional floors/GFA change Again, my apologies to you. This may have figured in to your confusion. And now I'm slightly confused

i’m pretty sure all of these “changes” are the same ones we saw in November per the last CDR package here. The addition is on the building that is adjacent to the Acme parking lot on the NW side of the site.

also, does anyone know what the deal is with the huge vacant lot just south of the Piazza on 2nd? Seems like it’s part of the same package of land as the Terminal (used to be owned by Blatstein/etc), just seems odd for it to be empty in such a prime spot given the plans to tear down existing buildings.

You mean on the SW Corner of Germantown and 2nd?

It could just be being used as a staging area for the 27 other projects within a 1/2 block radius. Or it could be owned by the Bell Flooring Family.
