To add to the previous discussion about underappreciated views, I would like to submit the northeast view of downtown

A lot of development in just the past decade in that view. Even some decent skyscrapers.

And from the east, from the same photographer

That one will be one that I'm interested to see develop as East River expands.

One perspective that I never see (but would love to) is Uptown from the north - like if you're coming from 290 and getting onto the West Loop from that flyover. Residential towers at the fore, Williams at the back but still a primary feature with a ton of new towers that have emerged in the past number of years. Also, there's enough development on the other side of the Loop now that it halfway looks like it's merging with the Greenway & Upper Kirby skylines.

I really like Texas Tower, but I love that is rotated off the street grid.

I live in Kingwood and occasionally take my wife into work downtown and love the view coming down 59. I think that angle has seen more changes in recent years.

Really appreciates the updates.

I think Montrose Collective is my favorite development since that corner has been so underdeveloped for the location. It's an interesting mix of retail, office, and a Houston library expansion. There have been two recent high rises but those a few blocks away and not on the main intersection of Westheimer and Montrose. This development along, with the Krogers and Half Price shopping center (both razed now I believe) will really make this a better area. Also the scale is really appropriate for the neighborhood.

At first I thought this development seemed to be a little "too good to be true" and was suspicious of it, because you know with COVID for a while I bought into the doom and gloom that cities would suffer. But things are coming back and I can definitely see this filling up.

Agreed on the half price and kroger, hopefully they maximize the density on those blocks. At a minimum, something as big as the Pearl Rosemont mid-rise tower going up.

Not sure exactly what you are referring to. There are two major employment centers in the picture, Greenway Plaza and Uptown/Galleria. Uptown is the major linear set of buildings in the background, including the very tall blue tower. Greenway Plaza is the cluster of buildings in the middle of the background.

The rest are small clusters of highrises, in Montrose and Upper Kirby. The bayou had a major upgrade that has spawned a lot of development along it.

Very far right (in distance) is Memorial City/City Centre/Energy Corridor, right?

Correct. I didn't scroll far enough.

Uptown and Energy Corridor are pretty linear and along a major highway.
