A stunning, landmark achievement in architectural and structural engineering, kudos to SHoP Architects, well done NYC.

Manhattan, from tower on 57th Street. The building is residential. The apartments at the top have this view. - And Central Park on the other side.

If only an arm and a leg would get me a view like that everyday, but even that won't cover the cost of the deposit 😂

Hopefully we're only weeks away til the crane and everything else come down to see this lit up at night!! 🤩

I think we are all waiting for that, but who knows when they will light it.

Don't think for a second that terrorist groups are unaware of the complete lack of security in many tall buildings both under construction and open around the world. It wouldn't take much to assemble a bomb up there, bring weapons, start fires or engage in general sabotage. Video after video proves just how easy it would be.

Like many tall buildings, @111west57st houses a tuned mass damper in a mechanical penthouse, just beneath @shoparchitects decorative crown. That’s 800 tons of steel up there.

I always thought that One57 was kinda goofy, but now with the other big boys providing context, it’s beautiful.

Wasn't that long ago that we were dealing with a different scale on West 57th, and the dangling crane above the streets seemed incredibly high and dangerous...
