Riverside, filed for bankruptcy, following a crane collapse in New York. Anyone know where this crane was prior to coming to Chicago?
I think Lomma survived that as I know lots of there cranes are/were used on Hudson Yards. As for this crane, it looks to be from Federated Crane.

While this crane looks to have a new paint job on the body there are pieces (counterweights/mast) of the crane that is the exact same (or close) shade of blue as the cranes that worked on 30 Hudson Yards. Although those cranes were from NY Tower Crane which I think is a part of Lomma.

^That very well could be. I am always interested in what structures these beauty cranes have built in the past.

Sunday 12/9

Did a few laps between 110 & WPE yesterday. Here are a few shots taken during the early stages of the crane installation. Wasn't there for the most exciting part, but beggars can't be choosy

The 888 ringer at 150 was still more impressive than the MLC at 110. The mass and capabilities of 888 were just extremely impressive!

Sorry for all the glare. My girlfriend is probably annoyed taking these for me in the first place so I don't complain.

If you would be so kind to get her in touch with Nick, Solar or Harry about perfecting her photo skills, we'd all greatly appreciate it. Too good of a vantage point to miss. Yes, you'll be sleeping on the couch, but sometimes you just gotta take one for the team.

I'd be happy to go scout the view for us all...and provide her with the tips & tricks I use to mitigate glare while shooting through windows

That would be greatly appreciated, Nick! Trying to get a shot of the crane from my window at K2 and the glare is rough on my iphone haha. I suppose I'll wait for a better time of the day but I don't think I've ever been more excited to see a crane. This thing will be rising into view in no time!

Or you can make your own from some black fabric and suction cups...or you can hold up a black hoodie. Same concept. Varying degrees of cost and usability.

The skirt will certainly work, but you can always just try turning off your interior lights and getting your lense (or phone) as close to the window as possible. Turning off your lights is often enough. If the angle works, having the lense flush against the window is also pretty fool proof.
