They could have used Cor-Ten Steel like they did on the US Steel Tower!

^ One of my favorite buildings in a mid-size city in the world. There's something just so primeval and visceral about the design.

^Why is that hard to believe? Is it too few or too many?

Sears Tower has 104. Aon Center has 50. 150 N Riverside has 22.

27 seems about right considering this tower is a bit larger than 150.

Well I hadn't made the comparison but you're oviously right. I guess it just shows how big this tower is gonna be!

Would the setbacks have anything to do with the amount of elevators?

There are 27 at 150 N Riverside. Not all 27 go to all floors but there are 27 elevators.

^^ Thank you for those shots. Every morning when I cross Wacker and think "Fuck, it's cold/rainy/sleety/not sunny", I think about the people working outside, all of the time to erect these amazing buildings.

Excel is hard ... oh, wait ...

For me this tower has been the underdog of this boom. Before, I didn't think much of it but now seeing the construction photos this thing will be a beast rising right from the river, and taller than anything else currently on the south branch!

Funny how this one got proposed and built so quickly, even considering the demolition, and meanwhile the block long lot on Franklin still sits there, and now becomes an even less desirable locations because much of its views westward will be blocked by this tower. I wonder if that site will be scrapped as an office tower soon and just become a lot for a couple mixed use towers instead.
