That's odd because anytime I've advocated for helping people who need help you've been completely against that sort of "evil socialist virtue-signaling"

Neat.

The City owns and is leasing the part of St. V Centre parking lot which is west of the internal road.

Same with a large piece of the credit union parking lot at St. Anne's. Property line follows the angled wall on the north side, at an offset.

I believe the City also owns the property SW of St. Mary's where the community garden is located. Or maybe the Church owns it. The property is exempt from taxes. The plan looked to have a similar loop as you show in the opposite quadrant. It would be where Avalon Rd intersection is now.

Anyone know when the city releases the annual road work schedule of roads to be reconstructed/rehabilitated?

Go back a page or 2, someone posted shortly after I asked which is after I drove Goulet and almost thought I was back in Kabul.

The goods news is that in a few years, the road renewal budget will approach the point where it is big enough to sustain the exisiting road network, so those 2%-worth of dedicated property tax increases to filling potholes will be able to be used somewhere else in like 5 or so years. So maybe we'll start seeing actual traffic flow improvements in two or three decades.

One would expect the province and feds to step up as they routinely do in other jurisdictions for projects like that. So it should be a third of that cost on the City.

Excuse my crude drawing - no where near as nice as Anthony's.

A few years back, I was speaking with a high up with the City and he described the plan for Bishop at St Vital like below. He said in their design there wasn't enough room between Dakota and St Mary's for appropriate acceleration and deceleration on/off ramps. The would have to use service roads between the two.

That would work just fine. Really, it doesn't matter where the on/off ramps are... the key element here is the grade separations. St. Mary's/Bishop Grandin is a bad, perennially congested intersection.

I think an appropriate scope of project would be to remove access from River, create a grade separation for combined access between St. Mary’s and Dakota, and create a grade separation with access at St. Anne’s. Both other ends of the road need attention too (Island Lakes mess and Waverly) but that would be a good start. It would also be prudent to upgrade the road surface too. It might be one of the worst stretches in the city overall.

^ An interchange at River Road would be good, but if that isn't possible then there should be an overpass, or at a minimum a RIRO-type connection.

Agreed about the road surface, it is a shambles.

connecting Warde from St. Mary's to Sage Creek will also alleviate SOME traffic off Bishop.

It starts St. mary's and stops St. Annes, then a small strip in Roysalwood, then another starts again in Island lakes and goes to Sage Creek. crossing the Seine and Railroad tracks is where it needs some completion.

What about this one? I know with them changing the plan to Plessis being one of the legs of the ring road this might not work.

Yup. Get'r done.

Not sure how or if they plan to do this portion of the ring road. Since the industrial park is being built to the north of Fermor/Plesiss. They'd need to basically go right over top the current bridge and connect to Plesiss.
