^ Doesn’t exactly sound like it’s right around the corner. Why would it take 5 or 6 years or longer after they’ve already demoed and soil tested ??? Is Griffin a poser ?

My guess is that it will be delayed and possibly not built. Most firms are now reevaluating their office needs, and in many cases reducing their needs. Although Citadel has done well, I'm guessing that Griffin knows how fortunes can change quickly for even a high flying company - look at the recent bank failures and even Saleforce.com. There seems to be enough office space in Miami to accommodate his needs until this economic uncertainty clears...

Foster + Partners Designing ‘One Of The Tallest Towers In The City’ For Citadel
The Next Miami
March 5, 2024
https://www.thenextmiami.com/foster-...y-for-citadel/

Citadel’s new $1b headquarters tower in Brickell is being designed by Foster + Partners, according to the WSJ.

Foster + Partners previously worked on the same property, designing residential towers for its previous owners before it was purchased by Citadel.

The new Citadel tower will have a luxury hotel at the top, renderings show (the renderings have not been published). It will be one of the tallest buildings in Miami, the report said.

Wow nice! A bit scared about the final design though, please don't look like PENN 15.

Don't feel too bad about him..while I understand the appeal of having a really lovely new highrise, Ken Griffin is a louse, and Citadel is well known for conducting incredibly shady practices (see: RobinHood stock trading scandal, 2021-2023). He leaves a bad taste in many Chicagoans' mouths because he's a shitty, ruthless, unethical person, so perhaps I'm a little biased, but still doesn't wash away his filth in other areas.
I would love nothing more than a really cool new skyscraper in DT Miami, and designed by Norman Foster no less! But it's a Kenny joint, so the appeal is slightly diminished for me personally.

Him, Musk and Bezos got this weird thing that once they made it big they decided to have a mid-life crisis and transform into these weird pseudo-celebrity douche nerds.

Anyways I’m sure this building will be marvelous. Dude has an ego, and that will show in the design, Miami skyscraper nerds are lucky.
