Apparently there is stuff going on at Union West? Saw this Tweet from Thomas Kerwin from bKL which contains a picture of their projects and on the bottom row it has a picture captioned Union West and there's a pile driver in the said picture--

Once you have permits, downzoning has no effect. The same thing turned out to be true toyoko hotel or whatever it's called.

^ I think they are confusing the Toyoko Hotel with that project.

That is an as-of-right boutique office building that replaces an ugly 70’s era parking garage. I don’t remember hearing about any Reilly controversies regarding this one

No he tried the same BS with both projects. You can still downzone as of right too. Just not when permits are already issued.

Does anyone know what the development of 838 W. Kinzie is going to be? There is a community meeting on May 7th.

There was an article about a distillery over a year ago but not sure if that is still the plan.
