St. Louis City SC

Last week, St. Louis' new soccer team revealed its name, colors and shield.

I love it all - the colors, the shield and the name of the team.

St. Louis-native Sterling K. Brown (NBC's, "This Is Us") narrates two videos.

So what happens to ST USL team? Do they continue or did MLS just kill them off like amazon does to small retail?

Congrats to STL!! Looking forward to a Chicago rivalry. Something that is missing in midwest MSL. Columbus Crew used to be Fire's nearest foe. Seriously happy that STL got a team.

I could be incorrect, but my understanding is that it will be a feeder team.

but will the new st. louis team be in the eastern or western conference?

if they're in the west, that will hamper the development of a rivalry with the fire.

btw, cincinnati has an MLS team now as well, in the eastern conference, and they're a hair closer than either columbus or st. louis.

downtown to downtown, as the crow flies:

chicago to cincinnati - 252 miles
chicago to st. louis - 262 miles
chicago to columbus - 275 miles

Yes Cincy is a little closer so hopefully that 3 way rivalry develops like MLB. STL will also have instate rivalry with KC.

Sacramento will join the same year (2023) as STL. So that should push STL east. And Austin & Charlotte are on deck for 2022

At that time the league will be at 30 and certainly due for a realignment to 3 conferences.

Well, that was a short run. Too bad about COVID-19 stifling their ambitions.
