Great pictures jfdaniel! This one really makes an impression. The CHUM complex will be one massive addition to the urban fabric that's for sure!

I just went through their site. This thing is going be massive! Even in the middle of the downtown core it'd be intimidating!

The CHUM research center already makes an impact in that neighborhood, but the CHUM itself will be five, maybe 6 times bigger. Can't wait to see it starts rising :-)

great, thanks for posting these!

is it a parking lot i see in between the two CRCHUM buildings (right edge of your first pic)?
for some reason i seem to remember seeing earlier renders with a one-story "building" linking the two blocks. i realize this is right above the ville marie so not sure how that woud have worked anyway. do you know what's going on there?

Merci Martin!

I really do enjoy this, I cannot think of a single other development in downtown that will have such a profound effect on the integrity of the urban aesthetics.

It will help turn one of the least interesting, least pertinents part of downtown into a thriving hub of activity. This is massive!

Very true. This aerial picture shows the CHUM Research Center, now top off, and the hole for the southern part of the CHUM itself (we should expect multiple cranes very soon), which is much bigger than the Research Center, which is itself already having an big impact in that sector. The CHUM will be HUGE.

I don't know what the space will be used for, but I doubt very much that will become a parking. More likely a park or some public space.

We can only hope that these urban aesthetics include rebuilding Viger Square, I don't think crumbling concrete and drunken hobos are all that conducive to a healing environment.

The city already announced that it will demolished the concrete structures of the parc and make something more inviting.

Cool picture. I cannot wait to see that yellow commie block facing Rene-Levesque going down. I reckon this will be the last phase of the project though.

Although, I am not too happy that the 1930's art deco section will also be torn down. Its a beautiful building, worthy of Bumbaru's attention. I guess he's too bust trying to save Square Viger...

I agree with you on the Art Deco part of the St-Luc hospital that will be demolished. It was sad also to lost the St-Sauveur church, even though the bell tower will be back.
