New Tallest in ABQ

Blue Dot Corporation is building a new 35-55 story tower downtown as mentioned by fellow poster NickABQ from skyscrapercity.com. It was originally going to be 30 stories but demand is extremely high so they will be adding floors. The following link has a rendering: http://www.bluedotcorporation.com/de...ckardplace.htm

Nick also mentioned the 27 story tower proposed for I-25 & Jefferson is almost through the approval process, hopefully renderings will follow soon.

The little 3-D rendering is very cool. I hope they do a 55 story version

Nice that would make for a very attractive SIG Tower for ABQ IMO, I hope this one happens for New Mex.

Not a bad looking tower....sorta Tabor I meets Tabor II via a few concrete and steel links. I like it!

Their portfolio doesn't show anything close to the scale of this proposal. It would be great if they could pull it off, but it doesn't sound realistic.

Supposedly interest has been very high, so they're thinking of adding floors (up to 50). However, even if it is built at 30 stories, it will eclipse our current tallest by 8 floors. Exciting news none the less. Their current project, The Anasazi Lofts, happened very quickly. I'm hoping the same holds true for this one too!!!

Yea, great news. I definitely hope it gets built.

Although 55 stories would be incredible, I'd be nearly just as happy to see 35.

Good for the 'Q.

This is the most exciting thing to happen to ABQ, well... ever. Seriously though, I did not see this coming and I hope it comes to rapid fruition. Downtown is in desperate need of a few nice towers.

Nick over at skyscraper city had more good news today.........It appears the city and La Posada Hotel have finally made an agreement regarding parking for the boutique hotel. The developer Gary Goodman will move forward with his renovation plans for ABQ's first hotel. Once complete he wants to build a 26 story hotel directly behind that property in the vacant lot pending city approval. If the 420 room Westin hotel and Arena get built Downtown ABQ will finally have the momentum it needs. We could be looking at 3 to 4 new skyscrapers in the next few years. I'll keep my fingers crossed!

I don't know if I can contain myself....

With the noon-day ministries site looming after BelVedere, possible Westin tower, Packard Place, La Posada plus new hotel tower, all the Jonathon rose housing AND Chant's tower on 25....HOLY SMOKES!

Congrats ABQ! SLC could use one of these. Unfortunately we never will because the mayor likes to rough up developers during meetings.
