More of beautiful and diverse Brazil
With a territory larger than continental US and the European Union, and around 220 million people, Brazil is the West´s second largest democracy, only behind US. Brazil is part of the world´s largest free trade agreement with the European Union (Mercosur and EU) and also has a free trade agreement with EFTA ( a commercial bloc with Switzerland, Norway, Iceland and Liechteinstein).
In 2020, Brazil´s GDP fell only 4.1%, lower than UK GDP drop, Germany GDP drop, Japan GDP drop and Canada GDP drop. In the first quarter of 2021, Brazil´s GDP rose by 1,2%, behind US, but higher than Japan, UK, Germany and EU average (all of them had GDP contractions instead of GDP growth in the 1st quarter of 2021).
Brazil has the West´s second largest foreign exchange reserves (only behind Switzerland) and is the West´s fourth largest foreign creditor (only behind UK, Ireland and Luxembourg), and ahead of Switzerland.
In GDP adjusted for PPP (Purchasing Power Parity), Brazil is still the West´s third largest economy (only behind US and Germany), and the world´s 6th largest market economy in GDP by PPP and the world´s 8th largest economy in GDP by PPP considering all types of economies.
