Signs on site say "spring 2022" for the building opening.

On the "other" forum a lot of folks had hoped for a narrower, much taller building. I'm just glad RBC is taking 16 floors of this building! That's pretty good in this day and age!

8/18.

A bit of glass! I wouldn't judge the quality of glass for the building on this photo, though. The glass that's up so far is in front of hotel back-of-house spaces, so is probably a lot more opaque than what we will see elsewhere. My phone camera is also making things look worse than they are. It's not great with high-contrast or complex lighting.

How often do you get a construction update with the National Guard?

Glass going up in earnest now. Skyway to the library is in also.

9/14:

Exactly 1/3rd of the way up with the floorplates.

I know Cesar Pelli wouldn't be happy with the new skyways. But now that they're in, I wonder what his thoughts would have been.

Put Cesar outside in January without a coat for 5 minutes and see if he changes his mind

Those first few floors are huge! What is the plan for them?

First floor includes separate lobbies for the hotel, office, and residential uses, in addition to a skyway lobby. Also includes a retail bank branch for RBC, a restaurant affiliated with Four Seasons, and some back-of-house items like an indoor loading docks and hotel offices.

Second floor is mostly ballroom and meeting space, with some ballroom back-of-house spaces. The two ballrooms and some of the meetings rooms are 2-story spaces. The big two-story space you see facing Nicollet is the main ballroom.

Third floor only covers part of the overall floorplate due to the 2-story spaces on the 2nd floor. Third floor is all hotel back-of-house functions.

Fourth floor is where the tower footprint starts and is the amenity level. Spa, gym, indoor pool, outdoor pool. Some more hotel back-of-house.

And then with the tower, floors 5-21 are office, 22 is mechanical, 23-30 are hotel, 31-36 are condo, and 37 is mechanical.

I've got no real problem with the skyway between RBC and the library, but that one in the front of the library is just sad.

Great tower. Never knew RBC had such a large presence in Minny.

As was quoted from the Strib on this thread back in June 2019, RBC is only supposed to occupy 10 floors, and of course there is the hotel and condo part.
