That'd literally be insane, don't wanna be overly optimistic but it is a real possibility.

Add 301 & 321 South Wacker to that list (potentially). Not sure about NEMA II but maybe that also.

Finally had some time to watch the magic yesterday. This is truly a 'site' to behold:

The transition from cast in place concrete beams to steel is apparent here in the photos above and below, with the transition to steel brackets for what will be Level 1.

^Channeling my inner HarryC here, with a unique angle. For scale, the cable on the hook is about 1.5" in diameter.

Based on what I could see when I walked up there on Friday, looks like that mound of dirt that they are driving the mixer trucks and concrete pump on will have to be taken out of there because that area is needed for the lower level of the building.

How will they get stuff to the site without that opening that's under WPE?

I'm guessing they will leave out part of the podium for crane picks and so forth so they can continue to use the access road from Lower Orleans. In fact they may only build the parts of the podium needed to support the tower above.

^ Good guess. That would definitely need to stay open for the duration of construction.

If they end up using only the tunnel for logistics, it'll be quite the feat of engineering that they squeezed this entire tower through a 20' wide hole in the parking garage!

Personally, I'd love to see some steel arrive via barge...

well, if you think about it, almost every skyscraper on the planet was constructed by utilizing 12' wide maximum trucking... (and 15'+- height)

Haha yeah yeah... But what fun is that for a tour guide to mention on a river cruise?

It's almost as if they sized that hole to allow for standard sized trucks to pass through it...

so will the plaza float over the river's edge? would have been nice to build steps and/or some kind of a landing right down to the water... or does the water level change too much to permit that?

It looks like the WPS riverfront will look exactly like the WPE and WPS riverfront. There will be a walkway on piers suspended a couple feet above the water's edge. Considering the amount of flooding they've had along the Riverwalk, this looks like a good design. It's basically right on the water without having to deal with potential flooding.
