As an English teacher there really is no strict definition between mountain and hill. It’s a really relative case. What matters more? Height? Grade? Appearance? I think Knox Mountain is deserving of the term mountain. Even here in Japan many small hills are called “Yama 山” which means mountain and not hill, which is “Oka 岡” Mountain just has a better sound to it.

PS, Knox Mountain is an amazing jewel in Kelowna’s crown. Every time I’m there a visit to Knox Mountain is a must.

I live down the street, and Knox is my favourite part of the neighbourhood. Less than 5 minutes to the base of the mountain by bike. Having mountain biking trails basically in my back yard is amazing.

UBCO is the one I'm so excited for. I can't believe it's happening.

Closer view looking at Mission Groups dual tower Bernard Block, 17 story office building in the foreground and the 34 floor Bertram tower in the back.

Some photos from this morning

Looks like LFC and I had the same idea this morning to get some close ups of The Block and Bertram! I also have a few photos from the seniors complex going up at KLO and Pandosy, plus a few shots of Aqua, which is sneakily getting up pretty high behind the adjacent boat storage facility.

Bertram and the Block:

Today WorkSafeBC in final stages of Kelowna crane collapse investigation
'FINAL INVESTIGATIVE STAGES'
Madison Erhardt - Mar 27, 2023

I'm thinking the release of the investigation report will most likely be before or on July 12th (2nd anniversary of the tragedy).

It's Mission Group. Wouldn't be surprised if there's something happening behind the scenes to stall the publication of the results from the investigation.

What part of, "WorkSafeBC in final stages of Kelowna crane collapse investigation" didn't you understand?

For some reason I thought only one person died from the crane collapse but 4 guys died

It's been 18 months lol. What else are they needing to look into? For reference they were also at the final stages of the investigation at the 1 year anniversary of the tragedy.

Two of the victims were the sons of the owner of the crane company. I would imagine that this makes interviewing people important to the investigation difficult. The crane was also built by a German company that will probably be consulted with and will also probably want to conduct their own investigation. Im not saying the various agencies involved are models of efficiency but i don't think they've been sitting around for the last 18 months twiddling their thumbs.

It's nice to see Kelowna's skyline really starting to take shape but what i'll never understand is, why the business district isn't downtown like you know, every other city on the planet

That's exactly what they've been doing because I can virtually guarantee you that with no experience conducting such investigations single-handedly I could come up with a comprehensive report in a few weeks How you find this acceptable is astounding to me
