For those of you living in these areas do you find this information to be accurate?

“Of all the areas studied, St. Louis, Missouri, is the most affordable, requiring just $57,446 after taxes to maintain a comfortable lifestyle.”

I can confirm St. Louis is cheap as fuck. Historically salaries have been in the shitter but during the pandemic the trend seems to have been significant pay increases (relatively speaking) in places like this as certain sectors of the white collar workforce have somewhat detached from localities.

The Minneapolis numbers seem legit. It is probably the second most expensive Midwestern metro as this study shows but in terms of cost of living vs salaries it does very well. I know that for blue collar and service jobs the pay scale is similar to the west coast and NYC but the dollars go a lot farther. Blue collar Californians are starting to show up here in noticeable numbers. I know a bunch of transplants who were born in LA or the Bay Area who moved here, mostly second generation Mexican-Americans. It is a lot of the cooks I work with and everyone who does maintenance on my apartment building.

Why do you keep posting just a link and a comment? It's so lazy.

Agreed. Please post a proper post with something to read and comment on. Don't just provide a link. Such threads will be closed in the future and this one will if not updated...
