I'm thankful we got the tower we got (albeit without its signature spire, it does feel oddly incomplete). Could it have been more fancy and ornate? Sure! 111W57 does that very well. Could it have been an absolute dud? Depending on who you ask, sure!
2020s New York isn't what I imagined growing up in the 80s and 90s, but I'm glad it's still changing and evolving!
I'm glad the skyline is changing (it's a healthy sign of a city that isn't stagnant), but this is one I could have done without.

Spire or not, this is 1000 times better than 432 Park.
I prefer 432 in form. When you see it, you know what the design is supposed to be. With this one, not so much. Time for Barnett to make moves on his next big things, be it on 8th or 5th Avenue.

What are all those white things inside the windows? It ruins the aesthetic of the upper part of this tower?
They're constructing the interior of the observation deck and those are likely temporary shades to keep the glass from scratching and allow the workers to see what they're doing without so much glare. Some of it could be interior wall panels waiting to be fitted as well.
