Looked like a staff training or meeting. All kinds of red shirts in there.

Nighttime shot of the completed IHOP building with it's full livery.

Photo found on Retail Talk & Share

While I'm definitely looking forward to trying this place out, I think I will give it a hard pass for at least the first two weeks to avoid the hoards of curious patrons.

I routinely get out of bed hours before sunrise so I'll be one of the early adopters to give it a try.

IHOP is now officially open!

I drove by this morning, and although it looked busy, it was not swarming with activity, so perhaps people are going to let the novelty wear off and the bugs work out before trying it on.

I wish them the best of success.

They are giving away gift cards on the radio these days. Like they need the publicity.

Cars were parked at the Petro-Can because parking lot was full at IHop. They even towed one that was parked at the Charging Station. Unplugged. A Range Rover. lol

I believe these places usually start off with tons of staff, and the numbers gradually go down in the passage of time.

IHop closed this morning, firetrucks were there early around 4:30-5:00. Still one Fire department vehicle there at this time. If I were to guess I would say something failed in the ventilation system. Employees were sent home.

Some online reports this morning said there was a kitchen fire that the suppression system took care of. (Online reports having about the same value as the paper they aren't written on, but anyway....)
I remember something similar to that happened shortly after St. Louis opened in Dieppe. It forced them to close for weeks despite it being a short fire. Hope the same consequences are avoided at IHOP.

Don't think there was a fire. I think the exhaust fan system failed.

Confirmed by the Manager it wasn't a fire just an alarm. They opened back up pretty quickly

New commercial/office building behind RBC and Second Cup at the Mountain/Gorge intersection - current status:

Structural steel went up last week just before the storm. Not much new happening at present.
