I'm surprised that store has lasted this long. Any time I've walked through, I've never seen anyone at the checkouts buying anything. Have you read something that indicates it might be closing or is this just speculation?

If Hudson’s Bay does close their Regina store, even though it would absolutely be brutal for Regina not to have an actual store, it would open the mall to finally renovate and remove all asbestos and gut the space for future tenants.

What would any of your hopes and dreams for that space be:

CRU #1
60,785sqft

CRU #2
60,785sqft

CRU #3
34,600sqft

My vote would be:
#1 Grocery Store (Golden Mile Superstore is 92,385sqft)
#2 Winners/Homesense
#3 Goodlife Fitness (Golden Mile Goodlife Fitness is 24,567sqft)

As the anchor they would pay extremely low rent, but their sales per square foot would be a fraction of a typical Walmart.

It's so dumb though because in Regina they've only compounded the problem by creating such a terrible shopping experience.

That said I've only been in the mall once in 3 years.

Like any marginal business, you either invest in it to to improve or you just let it rot on the vine until your lease runs out.

Well, it's official now. No date for shutdown yet. That will be a large building sitting empty.

Bed Bath & Beyond Canada going out of business, closing 54 stores

Torrid opening on main level of the Cornwall Centre in the former Cleo space (between American Eagle and RW&Co.

Still hopeful for an announcement soon regarding the former Sears main floor space.

Eventually I learned that the best way to not be disappointed and angry is to set my expectations to a reasonable level. My expectations of this city is at its lowest point in 15 years. It would take a miracle to reverse the downward trend of the Cornwall, specifically. I would bet on the Bay closing before anything else opens in the Sears space.

I am positive where it is realistic and not delusional. I’d rather not live in a fantasy land in my head. I’d rather live in real world that is positive in itself and where it’s not, do what I can in my control to make it happen.
