I didn't think anything could be worse than the late 1990s trend of every commercial building wanting to look like it was in Scottsdale with the desert beiges and teal, but all of the neverending greys is getting up there.

at least it won't be hard to tear down and replace with another residential building once the land becomes more valuable!

I don't know much about this place nor the owner, but I assume he doesnt spend his morning trying to decide weather he should take the Lambo or Porsche to work. He is a small business owner that had a probably very limited budget when he got "bought out" to move. They had a building built based on his business needs, not the needs of a bunch of armchair design experts.

^would it really have costed any extra money to have the building entrance front the street rather then a parking lot?

And Vic’s has been in business for 50 years. Running a business in Canada for 50 years makes a ton of money especially when it’s family based because the money stays with them. They are easily multimillionaires probably enjoying their life in Wildwood with their house being paid off decades ago. There’s not much of an excuse for them too provide this bland and boring design. Certainly not in the case of financing.

A couple of doors down from Vic's Market at the corner of Windermere and Pembina.
On the plus side: lots of colour for those who hate Vic's 50 shades of grey and plenty of windows at eye level facing the street.
On the minus side: a renovation that replaces one fast food joint with another.

Anything fried chicken is aces in my books. That KFC really does make Vic’s look like shit though for real.

Teal is a great colour..We could use some more..Turquoise, cerulean, Azure, Peacock, aqua...Sick of Drab Beige, greige, grey..Also, here are other colours than orange for accents on mid-rises. That new KFC is decent for sure.

Teal has its charm, but when everything was looking like it wanted to be in the Sonoran Desert it was a bit much.

That said, the KFC is not bad as far as fast food joints go. A lot of the KFCs in town have been looking run down and junky... it's nice to see the chain sprucing their locations up a bit.

Did 'Vic' pay for that building. I thought it was the developer of the other site paying to move Vic out. Vic may be renting IIRC??

The building down in the 2700 block of Pembina by Concord is out of the ground now as well.

Arby's -> Subway -> KFC. The old Swiss Chalet was across the street where Shoppers/Starbucks is.

Renovations continue on former Wildwood Motorsports building. In background: The Point first floor framing at Pembina and Windermere with newly renovated KFC on other side of corner.
