In 1930, Brownsville had about three times as many Jews as Flatbush. By 1950, they were more or less equal in Jewish population. They were already moving to better neighborhoods in the 1930s and 1940s, and Brownsville would have been more dominated by the poor and immigrants whose numbers would have been smaller.

Morisania was 65% white in 1950 and Brownsville 77%. All the other areas were still 90%+. Puerto Ricans were classified as white however.

Also interesting is Bensonhurst, famously Italian a generation later, was about half Jewish in 1950.
