The mural by John Opella in the residential building’s entry depicts elephants breaking out of the Central Park Zoo in front of a backdrop of New York’s most recognizable buildings.

The building’s hardware was designed by Studio Sofield and cast by P.E. Guerin. This door handle is modeled after 111 West 57th Street’s architecture.

WOW. I was wondering when this was going to happen. Such a long pause. GREAT moment to see the rise of the last beam. Now for the crown to finish! What a great tower.

Imagine if those towers were as close as they appear in the photo. It's like a little sibling to Steinway.

It's great to see the final topping ceremonies of the recent skyline toppers (One Vanderbilt, Central Park Tower) and others within the past year (30 Rock, 53w53, Manhattan West). It's like a throwback to the great days of skyscraper building.

Just listed: the Landmark Penthouse @111west57st . 5,269 sq ft duplex with treetop views of Central Park, and a jaw-dropping Great Room that Frederick T. Steinway had hoped to make his private residence in 1925.

That view from the UES is gonna be insane once the other Billionaires Row towers go up.

This lucky homeowner will have dead-center views of the tower on the Park Lane site.

It would change again before we got Steinway.

And a 2013 quote based on that rendering...

This next generation of towers, if the trend continues, will create less a wall and more of a forest. More sightlines, more sunlight, more stupefying verticality.
