I like it, but frankly, I need to see the base and how it interacts with the sidewalk. It would be so typical that a cool edgy design meet the pedestrian experience with a boring podium. Don't care how cool it looks, if the strip mall next door has better pedestrian activation.

I love the form of the tower, very cool and definitely an improvement over what is currently there.

KTLA Channel 9 was all over The Star tonight. They showed some amazing animations, showing the skin is even more fine-grained than the photos here are showing. We forumers are accustomed to new proposals, boring ones and exciting ones--but judging on KTLA's interviews tonight, this one seems to have caught the public's imagination.

The Chinese gave you pause, but not a company called Star LLC, that has absolutely no presence and zero development history than can be googled? I think the latter is probably worse.

The new Clippers arena in Inglewood will be named Intuit Dome.

^ That section of Inglewood has the potential to be a really vibrant and important part of the LA metro area. Will be interesting to see if it pans out that way.

Love this project for Sunset Blvd in Hollywood. Really hope it’s approved and gets built, however my logic says this has less than a 25% chance of actually happening, unfortunately.

By this area I'm assuming you mean the Inglewood Stadium and not the new Hollywood Tower?

If so - Not very well served now, but wheels are turning to build out a people mover to connect to the Crenshaw Line with them hoping to start the construction process as early as end of year.

Yes, sorry, I was referring to the new basketball arena. Thanks for the info!

How tall is that thing? Looks to be around 500ft? I think the currently tallest in that part of the city is the Sunset/Vine Tower at 310ft?

They say 22 floors but with high ceilings and those atrium levels it could be close to 500ft. I don't think that render is out of scale.

Is there another definition of "obscure" or are you joking? This building will be anything but obscure.

I just realized this is a block away from AIDS Healthcare Foundation, and Michael Weinstein's top-floor office. Everyone who's been here long enough knows what that means for this project.

It might be bogged down in lawsuits like two other big projects. Or three, if you're counting Hollywood Crossroads.
