Those 2 occurred in Richmond Hill and would count to York Region's total.

That's not what I read.

41 at Weston and Lawrence.

42 on Leslie.

Toronto police people and contact numbers quoted.

Not so much a homicide but a dead suspect just the same.

"Suspect dead, 2 women hurt in Kamloops abduction involving child: RCMP"

https://globalnews.ca/news/9061983/s...ild-abduction/

It's been a busy week already for homicides.

Nanaimo, Kelowna, Castlegar and Maple Ridge all had homicides in the last few days.

Except for Castlegar, all 3 cities have had 4 homicides up to now for 2022.

To put it in perspective, Maple Ridge has a quarter the population of Halifax, nova Scotia but half that eastern Canada city's number of murders so far this year.

Can anyone put a tally up, or has anyone been keeping tally, for what BC cities are at right now? It’d be interesting to see after the recent violence these past couple months.

Surrey had a homicide last Thursday, and other than the stabbing death yesterday in Mission, it's been a quiet weekend in BC.

I usually find BC homicide stats or tally for 2022 from HomicideCanada.com

What's going on in Calgary... third night in a row with a shooting and sixth in the last week, 97th of the year; that surpasses all of 2021.

Is a hit and run considered a homicide?

Winnipeg is at 34 actually according to the Winnipeg Free Press after a man, previously assaulted on the Osborne bridge, died from his injuries.

It's actually surprising their homicide rate hasn't been as high as Edmonton's over the last few years, considering their City-proper population is higher yet their demographics are not that drastically different. Wouldn't surprise me if they have the same number of homicides at the end of this year as YEG.

Winnipeg Homicide Map

Inner City

By my count about 12 homicides in the North end, 6 in Downtown, and 7 in the West End. These 3 areas makes up 75% of the homicides in the city.

There's a shooting every other day. The police aren't saying if it's gang related but it is very reminiscent of the gang war between the FOBs and FOB killers from the 00's that culminated in an innocent bystander being shot in a restaurant. This year a mother of 4 was killed when some asshole who had just gotten out on parole had a shootout in a stolen truck and crashed into her car. The kids are now without parents as their father died of cancer the year before.

If you ever look at homicide maps for Winnipeg from past years, the patterns are similar - most homicides concentrated in and around downtown and the North End.
