Oh yeah... I remember that now. Surprised the historic preservationists aren't up in arms. Seems like it could be a MCM-ish building getting demo'd.

If the historical society got up in arms over that POS I would never take them seriously again.

Deck Park Vista was built in the early 1990s. Not historic at all.

Ah. I said it "could" be MCM. Seemed possible it wasn't at all, or it could have been. Not a loss at all... either way, really.

Preliminary building plans were submitted for multifamily at the northwest corner of Central and Pierson. The property is apparently still owned by Omninet, who demolished the buildings here a while back but never built anything. I tried to find renderings but nada. The only information I could find - from a traffic impact study - is it will be about 236 units.

I haven't noticed nor been in that area for a while, but was One Camelback ever finished?

It's still proceeding, but at the same glacial pace that it has been for the past few years.

It's been pretty slow, but it is now at about 85 to 90% complete.

The current proposal is to build only on the west side of Central.

Apartments at NWC Central Ave and Pierson St.

Here's the proposal at Central Ave and Pierson St. Looks like a pretty high quality development with live/work units, co-working/coffee shop and retail fronting Central. No full renderings, but you can get an idea of what it will look like with what is shown below.

Owner: Rangewater Real Estate
Architect: Todd & Associates
Height: 5 Floors @56' (4 residential over 1 level of parking and 1 level below grade parking)
Units: 248
Parking: 300 (292 for residential, 8 for retail)
Retail: 3000 SF

Here's all the documentation I have on my Google Drive:

I wondered when we'd see something on that lot like 7 years after something was first proposed there.

I appreciate that they activated the site edge along the light rail. That will be a pleasant place to have some coffee outside.

looks great! only thing better is if it was a little taller (to match condos across the street). seems like it would be a great place to live with uptown plaza across the street. close to lots of eats.

Imagine how cool if and when they build a highrise on the other side of the tracks, on the SW corner of Camelback and Central?

^ It actually sounds like a Phoenix RFP is being seen to fruition. And me without any champagne.

A restaurant facing the canal would be a really nice touch and kinda gives it a Scottsdale Waterfront vibe to it.

This project recently submitted a proposed PUD, which has some nice renderings:
