^ Weird what that lens (or some software effect applied later) does to the appearance of 1 MW, and the cars and truck in the lower left.

This one will be beautiful too, even with it’s cheating exterior support beams, but it will forever be tainted by it’s gorgeous neighbor. Kind of like when you’re hanging out with a nine, and a real-life ten walks by, and it actually jars you seeing someone so much more attractive next to this person whom everyone thinks is beautiful. Too bad this building can’t move to Third Avenue. She’d be a star over there. Here she’s the homely sister.
FYI - it wasn't value engineering. The two towers have different positions vis-a-vis the tracks below them, so the structures are customized to reflect those positions. One brings all columns into the core to avoid the rails below, the other pushes the core to the perimeter to achieve the same results.

Oh, well now I’m embarrassed. I’ve complained about this many times without knowing there was a valid reason behind the design difference. Good to know. Thank you

I like that mechanical vent detail a lot. It reminds me of the exhaust pipes on a luxury car. Celebrating the mechanical aspects rather than hiding them.

I wish the glass was a slightly different hue. It washes out in front of Hudson Yards from some angles.

The problem with HY is everything seems to disappear near it, even most of its component buildings!

The Twin Towers were monolithic nothing comes close yet. Though I'd say Grand Hyatt will be definitely the closest since.

^ Looks like The Standard is missing part of a facade panel. I wonder how that happened. Did something hit it and break it?

Does anyone know the current height of this skyscraper? Looks like it’s halfway.
