Agreed, we need more trees period. There was a time when Philly had more trees overall. We need to replace those trees and add more for shade and beauty.

Wasn't there a Philly initiative to plan 1 million trees some years ago? Where the heck are all those tree planted in Philly?

Back in the Rizzo years, he laid off all the park workers who's basic jobs were to care for the City's trees, and at that time there were over 30 in that position. Trees, like all landscaping, need to be cared for regularly. Just sticking them in the ground is only a start. This City seems to concentrate on capital programs and do nearly nothing like planned upkeep. It's like council has to approve buying a box of light bulbs, and we all know how responsible council is.

I don't think you can access it online, but I know that Parks & Rec maintains a map (and probably a database, though I'm not sure as I've only seen the map) of all the trees in the city. I've always wondered how it was even catalogued in the first place, particularly in Fairmount Park lol. But it's pretty cool.

You can tour the units yourself! Just show up to the northwest corner of the site

Great post, TK!

Does anyone else think the units look a little cheap? They’re definitely better than a PMC project, but I don’t know, I expected a little more from the renders.

An example: the exposed electrical tubing connecting the overhead light fixtures.

I think they look pretty nice, but my touchstone for luxury is going to be the Laurel when it’s done. I’d be very interested to see how the two compare.

Those finishes look generally nice and appear in-line with a high-end condominium.

The Laurel will certainly outdo this project in terms of quality and aesthetics, but I'd still take a "Haus" here.

Good point. And I would certainly move in in a heartbeat!
