Ah, the unmistakable smell of a brand new box of safety vests being opened…

^ once again, thank you!!!!!

Another excellent photo update!

But I remain unconvinced that a tower is being built here.

Thanks for the great update!

The cladding on the block seems to be going pretty slow. I like it though, seems pretty unique!

I can't believe no one has adjusted the Youtube construction camera angle yet. Animatedmartian, at this point, they should just hire you to be their official construction updater.

Or, we can all stare at this video feed for 6 minutes, like 461 other crazy people did -

Clicking into it and watching the full 6 minutes are 2 very different things. It wouldn't surprise me if 451 of those 461 viewers didn't watch the whole video. Whenever I'm counted in these viewing stats I usually just click through towards the end to see the day's progress.

I'm surprised there isn't an official Bedrock cam from any of the multiple properties they own within viewing distance. I'm sure Dan Gilbert would want a time-lapse of the whole project featured in some documentary of his accomplishment of the project. Or at the very least for marketing.

^^ I used to watch the videos every day but haven't in months because it's now a pointless view that shows nothing.....

Great photos, thanks!

The site is as busy as ever, although the reduced growth of the core could suggest that another height reduction remains possible. Seems like they are slowing down in case they decide to trim the tower to, say, 400 ft. I know I am just being paranoid.

I work for a subcontractor for the site, we have finished our work through L43, some aspects of design are holding up the process though they are in process, apparently.

Probably a dumb question on my part, but what does "L43" mean? My first thought was "Level 43" but they are nowhere near that level. Unless you're talking about design work.

Separately, someone must have bumped the construction camera with their knee a few days ago. Or else they were reading our comments on here

As of August 25, the camera angle is pointing further up. It's still a pretty crappy view angle, but at least it's something.

It is so great to see construction of this magnitude in Detroit. Time for me to make a trip down the road to take in the sights.

I had forgotten that the site looked like this on Aug 31, 2021:

Video Link

That's very good progress in a year, for a city that has not had a construction project of this magnitude in decades. If we scroll back another year, it looked like this:

Video Link

Not a whole lot changed between these two time points, so I can see why some people were skeptical of this project back then.

L43 does stand for level 43. We are ahead of schedule on our part of the building, which is embeds for the curtain walls, but they weren't scheduled to deliver until the first week of Decemeber so I would guess it will be early next year before we see them get to that height.

Snagged a view from Gratiot and 375. Poor David Stott won't be visible from here for too much longer.
