To me the "Orange" panels are the same color as the brick color that's all over Fulton market. But that's just how I read it.

Anyways lots to look forward to in the area.

^ amazing work as always rgarri4! Fulton Market has been growing so quickly, this model is already out of date despite being a few hours old.

SCB is designing a new 296 ft, 271 unit building at 1338 W Lake St. 217 parking spaces, yuck:
https://chicago.legistar.com/Legisla...vanced&Search=

1234 W Randolph, originally proposed as a hotel, is now being proposed as a 470 ft, 400 unit building. Another design by SCB:
https://chicago.legistar.com/Legisla...vanced&Search=

Even though the new Connected Communities ordinance sets a parking maximum of 0.5 spaces per unit, it's a shame developers can just request an administrative adjustment to request a sizeable parking-unit ratio

This is the City Winery site. The application says that City Winery would retain its uses there. Developer address links back to Mill Hill Capital in Manhattan.

Developer is listed as Cedar Street.

And they just keep coming... And I'm not mad.

1338 W. Lake looks like a truncated Lowes.

Yes. That's just 25 feet off 900 W Randolph.

Encouraging materials choices for 1234 W. Randolf if they stick with that elevation. Bring on the terra cotta!!!

Missed the material detail! Terra cotta rocks.

I also just realized that this was the approved site of the Standard Hotel proposal (circa 2019). Definitely an upgrade.

Wow, that looks fantastic. I love the varied facade colors and materials.

That appears to be the case, but the massing, materials, and facade treatment more than make up for it. Even like the way they are treating the podium.

Also there's just way less of it. I'll stop short of doing a surface area comparison between them because it's not even up for debate... But to my original point, if you think the orange on 160 N Elizabeth looks good or can't see the distinction with Fulton Labs, please avoid a profession in architectural design.
I suggest you avert thy eyes /\ because you're certainly going to find 1234 W Randolph hideous then!

Also have you noticed a theme here with the orange? i don't think it's because Halloween is around the corner!

Interesting materials and textures going on. I also like how it carves out a lil' pocket "people space" along Randolph.
