Beautiful view.

I also read on Instagram that Michael Schulson is opening a restaurant on the Samson Street side of the project (for those that didn't know).

Do you possibly have a link to that post?

The Laurel Rittenhouse has partnered with restaurant group @SchulsonCollective, which will open its latest restaurant concept on the corner of 20th and Sansom. For now, check out the many incredible Collective restaurants already serving up amazing fare around Philly.
Have they said what was going on the south side? Just the entrance to the building?

Not that I've heard.

Also, what is the timeline for the opening of Equinox? That will be a huge draw for people in Center City. I haven't heard any updates, I hope it didn't fall through.

Would be surprised if they did. There’s a huge demand for gyms in CC right now. A lot of them are annoyingly always packed.

I have no doubts that it would do extremely well. Heck Equinox could open another in Northern Liberties and it would do extremely well. But Equinox has frustratingly long ignored the Philadelphia market, which is why I wanted to check and see if people heard updates, since The Laurel website has none.

I thought this was a done deal? Were people just speculating?

It is. I was just searching for updates since the podium is moving along and I haven't seen updates on the website.

I was just thinking about how every fitness chain that has (or will be) opened in Rittenhouse needs a NoLibs or Fishtown location. Equinox, Barrys, Rumble, etc.

For sure. That area is a goldmine for fancy gym and grocery store expansions. Expansions are generally slower these days, but it still feels like the Philadelphia market is overlooked compared to NYC, DC, and Boston.

Taken today. The lights around the entrances look super sharp.

Ground level looks great all around. Hard to believe this was an empty lot at that location a few years ago.

Funny how this lot has finally been filled in only to have another new empty lot on almost exactly the opposite side.

The Laurel Rittenhouse crown lighting (photoshop) by Philly SkyGuy, on Flickr
Just photoshop, but showing how the lighting will look from my NJ spot. I have a feeling the lighting is imminent, within the coming months

Talked to Brian Emmons, the Vice President of Southern Land Company. When asked about the lighting, he stated,
"Hope it’s 100% by 12/15"
and
"It’ll typically be white, but we can make them any color to celebrate/support special events."
