JDL just gets right to it don't they.

The plan from above shows Phase II commencing by 2023 estimated. That's 7 structures beginning by 2023 (hopefully). That's a lot!

I'm disappointed to see that 920 Wells will have a parking podium. I was hoping this would be finally be the development where all parking is minimized and pushed underground (except at edge conditions like the L tracks). Now there is a big ugly podium, front and center on Wells.

The facade system on this looks pretty cheap/basic too. I fear that similar VE treatments are in store for the rest of the buildings.

A foundation for a website is up for 920 N Wells, website says a 2023 completion date

https://920northwells.com/

They provide a link to a North Union website but I don't think it's up yet

Ok so we've got Keller, Stalworth, and Michels working on foundations simultaneously. Not sure if Case is working on anything right now. Though I can't remember the last time we had 3 separate companies doing foundation work at the same time. 4 would be pretty rad.

^Case was purchased by Keller and everything has been rebranded with the Keller name. Malcolm did the auger cast piles for 160 Elizabeth and Aldridge did the caissons at the Lincoln Yards job under construction so there are actually 5 foundation companies that did work on buildings under construction currently.

Oh wow, thanks for the info - guess it shows how uninformed I am.

Yeah Case was everywhere and then 'disappeared'. I guess that explains that.

Maybe they just translated the design from 640 Wells to here. Also curious that both Wells-fronting buildings have that little jog inward into the property. I keep seeing that in contemporary buildings -- what's up with that?

The “stacked boxes” trend has evolved to angled stacked boxes. Big deahl,
1112 w Carroll, the tall buildings on the moody site.

It’s very very on trend right now whether or not it’s good design is another question.

JDL’s Instagram said the caisson permit was issued today. Drilling should start tomorrow.
