Thor Equities Enters $100 Million-Plus Deal for Biggest Development Site Left in Chicago’s Fulton Market
Quote:
A New York-based developer has a deal to buy the largest remaining development site in Chicago’s Fulton Market district, which in recent years has emerged as the nation's fastest-growing urban office market.

Thor Equities has a contract to buy the 2.7-acre site along Peoria and Wayman streets and train tracks on the northern edge of the former meatpacking district for more than $100 million, according to people familiar with the deal.

Thor Equities is considering building multiple towers on the site, which could include a mix of office and residential space, according to one of the people familiar with the deal. Current zoning for the site allows more than 1.3 million square feet to be built on the vacant land, and Thor could seek additional density from the city.

Damn. If this goes through, then I'll be really curious as to what they can build. That's a pretty good sized plot of land right near other developments of theirs.

Has anyone any recent information about and/or visuals of the remodeling of the Thompson Center by the Prime Group?

A while back, they had an illustration of the possible makeover on their website - which looked promising.

I'm hoping the makeover will be better than the original and will reinvigorate the spirit that the building was originally meant to exemplify.

All credit goes to the photographer. I'd seen their posts before but definitely earned a follow from this update.

And yes, this is part of Big Deahl! I'm a big fan of how this tower is turning out, especially the color of the cladding. Much classier than some recent examples around the city.

Has anyone else seen the video and renderings IBT Group created for 1200 W Fulton Market? I came across this recently. It's a very highly produced video and also contrasts quite a bit from the pencil sketch we're used to seeing.
