Do my eyes deceive me or is 720 N LaSalle actually thinnish? Finally.

This is not the tower. It's for a sales center. The tower/high rise hasn't started construction yet at all.

What's the point of building a sales center on the site of the building? Don't most places rent out space in a nearby building. Constructing and demoliting a temporary building seems expensive and pointless.

No idea. Walton on the Park built one next door a handful of years ago where No. 9 Walton is going up right now.

Building permit is from December by the way, and says:
"C2-5 construct a one story 3,739 square foot temporary sales center to aid in the sale of a 24 story condo building. (e business)"

Amazing tour, Solar!

Open Question: Were the following in fact heard (and approved, as if I really need to ask that part) at Plan Commission the other week?

- Union and Halsted apartment tower
- apartment/hotel project 2100 block South Wabash
- Apartment tower 1300 block South Michigan

Only project I saw anything about from the meeting was condo project 111 S. Peoria, which was heard (and approved)

Thanks!

it is nearly impossible to keep up with all of the RN towers. I find myself constantly visiting page 1. Boomtown.

^ Smithfield essentially did the same thing at 400 w huron too. Did a full build out in the old Scoozi spot, then promptly demolished it a few months later when tower construction started.

RN, Loop, Streeterville, Gold Coast....I'm actually "excited" for 750 N Hudson. It's not a good looking tower but it takes up a huge vacant lot along Chicago Avenue. That part by itself is great.
