I think it will also serve as a testing center for new technology.

Yeah, it has several test shafts in it for elevator testing and a 3 level observation venue (rentable I believe) on top.

The elevators should look directly outside like some horrifying amusement park ride.

I think this will be the driver that eventually gets transit up to cumberland area. This project exceeded my expectations, however, I personally have not been. Is anyone aware of what type of difference (ridership/transit times) the 75 toll lanes had on the bus transit between Cobb and Downtown?

I do not understand the hate for Cobb County.

(and I am assuming you know it's not a condo tower)

Yea I see no reason to hate on Cumberland or Cobb County. I lived in Cumberland for over 15 years and it is really nice place. Nice balance of urban and suburban. Many mid size cities would kill for this skyline (much less all the amenities) and the Thyssenkrupp clearly stands out.

Wow, I have never seen this shot before. We always only think of downtown, midtown and Buckhead in terms of skyline. Your comment is correct. A lot of places would love to have this.

Fun Fact. In 1864 General Sherman got his first look at Atlanta standing here.

How do you all feel about this after completed? Is it an eyesore? Should it have been built somewhere else in the city? Discuss?
