You're exactly right about Dewnothing. I biked by the monstrosity at 14th and Peachtree this evening and was dumbfounded by how the city would let this arse get away with leaving a building looking like it was bombed by ISIS and is a future movie set for war in some foreign country.

He should be jailed...

Politan Row Sneak Peek

The big doors were open at Politan Row today as they received some deliveries.

Nearby, some signs of life at Serena.

Thanks for posting the photos! I've tried to see through little slits in the window coverings but with very limited success. I'm not entirely impressed with the look of this food court. I think it looks dated but reserve the right to change my opinion when it's actually open for business.

And gosh, it is possible to comment on a photo without reposting it...who knew!?

WOW I absolutely love it. Will look even better when each restaurant's colors and branding come into play.

I think it does have a bit of a retro feel that I really like. I can't wait to see the finished product.

I walked around Colony Square yesterday evening. Politan Row was all closed up, but the whole area in general is very impressive. Once everything opens up this will be fantastic. It reminds me of high-end pedestrian developments in DC, such as city-center.

A friend of mine who lives there took me on a tour last evening I was literally blown away at what they did.

Wow! Was it due to a pressure change when they opened the Politan Row doors? Where did you get blown to? Hopefully not that unfinished Dewberry mess across the street.

Even Stevie Wonder can see
it's NOT where Bigstick got blown to
but where he got blown at
that convinced him to say he was blown away
during a tour of the renovated Colony Square.

Politan Row is giving me a South Beach vibe today although I don't have a specific place as a comparison. I like it!

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I have been waiting to see something open on the ground floor at 15th and Peachtree and am starting to wonder if the blank wall on the bottom floor is not a future retail space, but instead some strange design choice?

If I remember correctly, it's slated to be a restaurant space because there was some controversy over the new building being built out to the edge of the park and claiming some of that space as outdoor seating. I'd guess they just haven't found a tenant yet.

Correct, future retail or restaurant space according to this old article from Curbed

It's pretty typical that the ground floor be boxed out until a tenant is signed onto the space. This allows the future tenant to customize the build out to suit their needs but more importantly passes some of the costs associated with the build out onto the future tenant. Storefront systems are $$$$

For fitness studios (Rukus, solidcore, et al), I guess the "vacant space with ads on windows" aesthetic is permanent even when they're occupied.

Similarly, see Park 27's boarded up entrance.

Wish we had zoning restrictions against that sort of thing--or if we do, that they were enforced. Occupied spaces should look alive.

There's a practical safety side to that too; I feel less safe walking down the side of the Walgreens at Five Points that has shelves/ads backing up to the windows. I don't think the people who design these "closed" storefronts have ever worried about being sexually assaulted.
